Barbara is a 1983 graduate of Springfield College, with a BS in Exercise Physiology. She was recently the owner and operator of NuFit where she offered nutrition and fitness counseling along with personal training. Barbara is a former fitness director at the Worcester YMCA and Orchard Hills Athletic Club. Barbara holds a CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) from the NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association), and is also Precision Nutrition Level 1 Coach and USA Weightlifting Level 1 coach. Barbara has spent close to twenty years in the fitness industry in a variety of leadership roles.
Tony is a 1982 graduate of Springfield College, with a BS in Exercise Physiology. He is reentering the fitness industry full-time after a long career in high-tech. Prior to his most recent career he was a former fitness director at the Springfield YMCA. Over the past eight years he has been a volunteer strength and conditioning coach at the College of the Holy Cross, where he had the opportunity to work with athletes ranging from middle-school to the collegiate level, assisting the Strength and Conditioning team with their high-school program and summer conditioning for the Holy Cross football program. Tony is a certified NASM-CPT (National Academy of Sports Medicine - Certified Personal Trainer) and USA Weightlifting Level 1 coach.
Brittany first became passionate about the practice of yoga while enrolled in a yoga course at Hampshire College in 2011. In 2013, she was introduced to Power Yoga of Cape Cod, and volunteered at the studio as a Karma Yogi. Her time at PYCC provided Brittany with incredible opportunities such as the first Love Yoga Fest in Hyannis, and multiple charity events, in addition to all of the wonderful classes and workshops offered at PYCC. She graduated Jill Abraham's teacher training course at Power Yoga of Cape Cod in May of 2015, and currently holds a 200-hour certification through Yoga Alliance. Brittany's all levels Vinyasa Flow is known to be energetic and uplifting. Brittany provides appropriate modifications and assists for beginners, while challenging even the experienced practitioner. Like her other job as a Foster Case Manager, teaching yoga enables her to help and inspire people on a daily basis.
Laura graduated from State University of New York (SUNY) Brockport with Bachelor's of Science degree in Physical Education/Sports Management and a BS in Food and Nutrition from SUNY Plattsburgh. Upon graduation she completed her dietetic internship at the University of Connecticut. Her background includes health promotion, corporate fitness and working as a Registered Dietitian doing individual counseling and group classes. Laura is an AFAA certified aerobic instructor and NASM Certified Personal Trainer. Laura has been working in the health/fitness industry for over 20 years as an RD, LDN, CDE and Fitness Instructor/Trainer.
Maureen Maher is a 1999 graduate of the University of Massachusetts - Lowell and a mother of 4. She is a senior project manager in the public safety software industry and has been a client at Commit Fitness since 2020. As part of her fitness journey Maureen is a 3rd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do where she still trains and competes at a local and national level and who has a strong belief that being active is a key factor in a fulfilling adult life regardless of age. Maureen became a coach at Commit Fitness after joining as a client of both the fitness and nutrition programs and seeing the impact of the workouts and philosophy made on her life and the other clients she trained with. She remains committed to maintaining a dynamic and physically well life and supporting those around her to do the same.
Tricia started out as a member of Commit Fitness in early 2019. She has always had a passion for fitness, but this passion grew while working with, and learning from, the coaches at Commit Fitness. Having seen so many people benefit from strength training and conditioning, she became dedicated to helping people transform their lives through the power of exercise and nutrition. She is passionate about improving client health, wellness, and overall quality of life. Tricia also has over 10 years of experience in the fitness industry, receiving her Zumba Instructor Certification in 2010.
Kaley graduated from Bridgewater State University in 2018 with a bachelors degree in Exercise Science.
She grew up playing all different sports and always enjoyed physical activity. She was never properly taught how to exercise until she went to college and that's when she truly started to enjoy working out.
Kaley did an internship in a cardiac rehabilitation facility and enjoyed working with the older population. She also works in a physical therapy office as a rehab aid helping people who suffered a multitude of injuries. Working there as well as being a coach at Commit Fitness since the fall of 2021, she's learned a lot about injury prevention and muscle strengthening.
